Values & Offerings

Fostering diversity in healthcare leadership by providing spaces for sharing experiences and mutual support, exposing barriers that minority people face in developing their careers, and then collectively breaking them down through mentorship, training, growing networks, and advocacy.

Are you a healthcare provider who identifies as being from a minority or marginalized group and is interested in growing your leadership? Have you felt alone in overcoming prejudice in your workplace or profession? Or are you a seasoned leader keen to mentor and increase opportunities for younger colleagues? Join us in this initiative!

We host gatherings, in-person and online, and provide training and mentorship in a variety of forms (check this website for updates and follow us on Instagram).

About our name

Ginkgo biloba is one of the world’s oldest living tree species, originating in East Asia and found around the world. According to TCM records, Ginkgo nuts have been prized for their healing properties for centuries. The stunning golden colour of the tree’s autumn leaves are a result of the pulling back of green chlorophyll — one colouring yielding to allow another to shine (a wonderful metaphor for mentoring).

A testament to resilience, to cross-cultural influence, and to beautiful distinctiveness, the Ginkgo tree serves as a symbol of our aspirations for healthcare in Canada.
